I’m gonna try to start using Tumblr again!
Allow me to reintroduce myself:
Dawa, 35, she/her, ace.
I love art, but only do quick doodles, these days. Anything I can slap out in less than an hour, usually on my phone’s sketchbook app.
I work full time in a grocery store as a Cheesemaster.
I live with my boyfriend and our 3 cats.
In the last few years, I have become a wrestling fan; we watch both WWE and AEW.
Pokemon is still among my favorite things. Very excited to play Violet soon.
We play dnd and/or pathfinder weekly. Love The Adventure Zone podcast.
Also, my three constants are: Hungry, Tired, and in Pain.
Content you can likely look forward to: Cat photos, doodles of pandas or pokemon, wrestling commentary, etc.

These are all the same painting. Sometimes an acrylic pour doesn’t work out right.
I think one problem was too much paint on the canvas, because you can see where it started to flow away. But another issue is the neon paints don’t seem to be suited to this type of painting. It lost all of its vibrancy after it dried. A flash photo brings up a bit more colour, but not much.
I tried the neon paints for three paintings, and they all failed to produce the results that normal acrylic paints will.
So the lesson here is… don’t use neon paints. I’ve noticed that other paints with any amount of transparency don’t work out well either. Full opaque colours seem to be the best.
I’m learning about a new type of abstract painting called Acrylic Pouring. It’s fun, and very messy, and pretty easy to get cool results. These are my first two attempts, after watching a bunch of youtube videos of people doing pours.
Check out my comic, please! I’ve been having a lot of fun drawing it; so maybe you’ll enjoy reading it?
Here’s a quick sketch of Masked Pan and his rabid sidekick:

“Hey Dawa, what did you do on your day off?”
Oh nothing, i just invented a butt-based numeric system. Normal day really.
